Interview with
Velislav Nikiforov

If there were an award for the most serious expression in the office, Velislav would probably be among the top contenders. But don’t be fooled – behind it is someone who enjoys challenges, takes pleasure in solving complex problems, and always looks for the best solution rather than the quickest one. For him, it is not enough for something to simply work – it needs to work logically, precisely, and in a way that makes the person on the other side never stop to think about how much effort went into the final result.
In this interview, we will find out what motivates him more than the result itself, why problems rarely come alone, and how he manages to stay focused when everything around him is moving quickly. We will talk about AI as a partner, honesty at work, and those small details that the client may not even notice, but which make everything work exactly as it should.
You are a particularly ambitious and goal-oriented person. Do you manage to find time outside of work for the things that bring you satisfaction?
Free time? But yes, I do find a few moments for the things I enjoy – and I try not to let them turn into yet another task with a deadline.
What part of your work makes you genuinely love what you do?
The moment when I find the root of a problem that has been troubling me for hours and everything finally falls into place. That feeling of “reinventing the wheel” never gets old, no matter how many times I experience it.
What motivates you more – the result or the process of getting there?
Definitely the process. The result is a bonus, but the real satisfaction comes from building something new from scratch – watching an idea gradually turn into a finished, working product.
What is the first thing you do when something does not go according to plan?
I glare, solve the problem, and keep glaring – because problems rarely come alone.
What helps you stay focused when everything around you is constantly changing?
Clear prioritisation and the ability to “mute” the less important problems in my head and stay focused on one issue until I solve it. Otherwise, it is easy to scatter your attention across ten things at once and end up completing none of them properly.
What is the one “small thing” that, in your opinion, makes a big difference in a job well done?
Attention to detail – something the client may not consciously notice, but they will feel that the website simply works and looks the way it should. Those small details are exactly what separates good work from mediocre work.
If you could focus on only one type of work from now on, what would it be? SEO, developing website functionality, or something else?
Doing only one thing would be far too boring. What matters to me is making a website as strong and competitive as possible – and that cannot be achieved through perfect functionality alone or good SEO alone. The two go hand in hand: no matter how beautiful and fast a website is, if people cannot find it on Google, something is not right. And the opposite is also true – a perfectly optimised website with underdeveloped functionality loses the customer from the very beginning. To make things work, I prefer to look at the bigger picture.
What role do you think artificial intelligence should play in our daily work – an assistant, a partner, or simply a tool?
Partner is the right word. “Tool” sounds too limited, while “assistant” underestimates how much it can actually do – I increasingly see it as a colleague I can discuss ideas with, rather than simply waiting for a ready-made solution.
What do you value most in the people you work with?
Honesty and the willingness to tell me when something is not right, rather than waiting for me to find out a week later. I would rather have an uncomfortable conversation at the right time than sweep things under the rug, only for them to come to light sooner or later.
What do you think sets TouchPoint apart from “just another agency”?
The difference lies in the attention to detail that no one has explicitly asked for, but which separates “I completed the task” from “I completed it properly.” That level of care is something I feel here, and it is what motivates me.
What makes a company successful in your view?
A company whose clients return not because of a contract, but because they genuinely want to work with you again. A company that does not need aggressive advertising because its clients and projects speak louder.
What do you want people to feel when they work with you?
A sense of calm and confidence that everything will be completed correctly and on time – without them having to check whether something has been overlooked or remind us about certain details. If I can save them the headache of thinking about those details, then I know I have done my job properly.
