For Vesko, Operations Manager on our team, computers are like a best friend – sometimes they have “family dramas,” but in the end, they know they can’t live without each other.
He’s the one who turns serious problems into resolved cases and often earns the title of “hero” in the eyes of clients. His creativity even goes as far as using his hobby – fishing – to solve work challenges (like improvising a fishing rod for cables).
If computers had feelings – how would you describe your relationship with them?
Like with a best friend – sometimes we argue and cause each other trouble, but in the end, we always make peace because we know we can’t live without each other. But when it decides to freeze or update at the most inconvenient moment, we definitely have “family dramas.” Still, without it, my days would be much duller.
Explain to a child what cybersecurity is.
Cybersecurity is like keeping your school backpack safe – you don’t leave it open so no one can take something from it. It’s the same online: we “lock” it with passwords, we don’t share personal information with strangers, and we pay attention to what files we “put in the backpack” of our computer.
Do you have a favorite moment from teamwork at TouchPoint that still makes you smile?
I have many favorite moments, but one that really stands out in my memory is when our entire team decided to move our office to Varna and make it the way we liked it. Besides being a lot of fun, it truly brought us closer together and filled us with positive energy. Our work flowed more freely and with lots of laughter, and in the end, not only did the office become more pleasant, but we all felt even more connected as a team.
If you could add one “unwritten rule” to the team, what would it be?
Every question is welcome – it opens a door to new knowledge and often helps the entire team see things from a different angle. Sometimes the simplest question leads to the best solution. There’s no place for hesitation – asking is a sign of curiosity and a desire to grow. The more we ask, the more we learn together.
If you could “borrow” one trait from a colleague, what would it be?
I would borrow my colleague’s organizational skills – he has a spreadsheet for everything, even for when to make a new spreadsheet. Meanwhile, I’m still trying to remember where I wrote down the password for my own spreadsheets.
Have you ever felt like a “superhero” for a client or colleague?
Yes, there have been such moments – when the problem was serious and the solution required a complex approach. For me, the most important thing is the result and the client’s satisfaction. But there have been cases where clients literally called me a “hero” because for them the situation seemed unsolvable, yet with the right knowledge and preparation, the solution came relatively easily. That feeling – to restore someone’s peace of mind – is priceless.
If you could describe your life with a movie title, which one would it be and why?
“The Social Network” – because my everyday life revolves around technology, communication, and building connections. I’m constantly between servers, networks, and people – sometimes solving infrastructure issues, other times figuring out how to connect clients and the team better, and often being the bridge between them myself. My life is a mix of technology and social interaction – exactly like in the movie.
How do you prefer to get around – on four wheels, two wheels, by water, or simply on foot?
I prefer to get around depending on the season. In summer, I’m on two wheels with my motorcycle, and when I have free time, I often take the boat out for a ride on the sea. Winter isn’t as fun, but then I rely on four wheels to handle the cold weather and winter conditions.
Has one of your hobbies ever helped you at work – even in an unexpected way?
Yes, I’d say sometimes my hobby – fishing – has helped me at work in unexpected ways. I remember one case where I had to “catch” a cable in a suspended ceiling with a plastered cavity and a 90-degree angle. I used an improvised fishing rod – a broomstick, duct tape, and double-sided tape. It turned out to be quite an adventure, and it showed me that sometimes a little creativity and a hobby can work wonders at the office!
What’s the small thing in your everyday life that can make your whole day better?
Satisfied clients, knowing they’re working without interruptions or issues. For me, that’s the clearest sign of a job well done and proof that the effort we’ve invested in their network and systems has paid off. Those small moments are what truly make my day.
And now is the time to explain to all beach and party lovers – what exactly is “Radjana” for you?
Haha, this actually started as a joke after a teambuilding in Varna with all the colleagues. They were having fun at “Radjana” (a beach bar), while I was at my house with a garden, where I grow fruit trees, vines, fruits, and vegetables. After they posted a group photo from the beach, I decided to reply with my own photo from “another place close to the sea” (my villa, of course), and I tagged it “Radjana Beach,” just like they do on Instagram. Since then, “Radjana” has become a nickname for my villa whenever I say I’m going there.
